Is there a part you've always wanted to play? Have you thought about acting but aren't sure where to start? Or are you looking to return to the theatre after a long hiatus? Join the Evergreen Players Scene Study Class!
Come as you are. We will meet each actor where they are in their own process, and work to build acting technique, and a theatrical community. Our focus will be on scenework, but we will wait to choose the scenes until we all can gather together. This way we will find the perfect scene that fits you.
All are welcome, regardless of experience. We are a group of actors, directors, and theatre-lovers who gather each week to work on scenes together. This 8-week class begins May 2nd and ends June 20th, and goes from 6-9pm.
Character Study- Shakespeare and the Greeks
with Tal Arnold
In this acting class we will each be studying a Shakespearean or Greek character, and looking at that character in a modern context. Each actor in this class will get the opportunity to focus on a classical character that fascinates them. We will do a deep dive exploring that character, and then together we will be creating a short solo piece. Half of the piece will be text from the original work, and the other half will be up to each actor. We will be asking questions like how does this character speak to the modern world? We can use poetry, music, other plays and works of literature, and original work to supplement the classical text. This 8-week class runs on Tuesdays beginning on May 3rd and ending June 21st, and goes from 6-9pm.
This class is for the experienced actor. If you have any questions please reach out to Tal at email@example.com.
