Mask Making and Performance
with Lucy Hamilton
Ages 8-12
Dates: July 22-26
In this session, these young artists will learn how to make and perform in their own masks. Masks played an enormous role in ancient theatre, and masks are still used today (in shows such as The Lion King and Phantom of the Opera). In this fun-filled camp session, our fabulous instructors will walk our young actors through designing their own personal masks. They will be guided step by step in creating these masks and then they will perform an original piece in them. This is a wonderful session for any young actors who might be nervous about lines, or for anyone with stage fright. Together we will explore the joys of theatre behind hand-made masks.
Performances will be on the second to last day of camp, and times are determined as we move through the week of rehearsals.
